EL.PI. CAST-RESIN SRL utilises state-of-the-art machinery to ensure excellent efficiency in the transformers produced. The company consists of two warehouses, each approximately 2,500 square metres, including a workshop of around 2,000 square metres, offices, technical rooms, and changing rooms spanning about 500 square metres, as well as an external area for material storage and product delivery of approximately 5,000 square metres.

Development and Quality

In the pursuit of continuous development of all activities that contribute to ensuring and enhancing its products, EL.PI. CAST-RESIN has initiated certification procedures since its establishment, introducing its own "Quality System," which quickly led to the attainment of Quality Certification.


The oil transformers marketed by EL.PI. CAST-RESIN are entirely produced by Elettromeccanica Piossasco, a subsidiary of the group, which has been certified compliant with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 by DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV) since March 2002.


The achievement of Quality Certification recognises the efforts that EL.PI. CAST-RESIN continues to make daily in response to the needs of an increasingly competitive and skilled market. This commitment is focused on the overall improvement of its organisational and operational structure, aiming for more efficient quality management to serve its customers, which is a primary concern for the company.

Quality control and certifications

All of EL.PI.CAST-RESIN's production is based on the implementation of a Quality Assurance System throughout its process, which, developed in accordance with the CEI EN 60076-11 standards, has quickly led to the attainment of Quality Certification.

DNV-ISO 9001

Testing

All our transformers are tested in compliance with CEI EN 60076-11 standards. During the production process, "in-progress" and final tests are carried out, according to the Work Instructions provided by the technical department.


For all transformers, in accordance with the specifications outlined in the applicable CEI/IEC standards for transformers, a final test is conducted before they are introduced to the market, and the relevant "test report" is compiled.



The final test in our testing room involves the execution of all acceptance tests (routine tests) as required by the CEI EN 60076-11 standard.

Tests

Before being introduced to the market, our transformers undergo testing in compliance with the CEI EN 60076-11 standard, including the following routine tests:

  • Measurement of the transformation ratio;
  • Verification of the polarity of connections and phase displacement;
  • Insulation resistance test with applied voltage;
  • Insulation resistance test with induced voltage;
  • Measurement of no-load losses and current;
  • Measurement of winding resistance at room temperature;
  • Measurement of short-circuit losses and voltage at the requested reference temperature;
  • Measurement of partial discharge level.

Reference compliance standards

Our transformers are built in accordance with the following standards:

  • Oil transformers: CEI EN 60076 1/12
  • Dry-type transformers: CEI EN 60076-11
  • Cast resin transformers: CEI EN 60076-11


At the customer’s request, it is possible to manufacture transformers in compliance with other standards. Special designs and production processes can also be developed, tailored to meet various needs and installation locations, in accordance with specific requirements and customer specifications.
